Dear friends of Iqbal Academy,
Salamun Alaikum,

After many months of search for a suitable site for Iqbal Academy Library, Hall and Auditorium, and having seen about 50 properties with different Realtors, a good location has become available in the lush green rural area of Monroe, New Jew Jersey.

Centrally and most conveniently located ( just 6 miles from the Exit 8 and 8-A of the New Jersey Turnpike ), it is a one-story building with 4000 sft covered area, with 8 rooms and a big Hall in great condition (can accommodate 300 persons), additionally with two small houses, on 3.3 Acres, with an excellent landscape.

A corner property located at 45 Wycoff Road, it was being used as office by a global oil company. The owner sold his business and the building is vacant.
It was on the market for $ 749,000 two years ago; it was taken off the list and rented. The lessee having left, it was re-listed for $ 675,000. Our offer of $ 607,000 was accepted and the property is under contract now, subject to variance.

We have been able to raise $ 325,000 for this noble cause. I am confident, the gap can be closed with your help, and with the great ' baraka' attached to the name of that great 'Arif ' -- Allama Iqbal. These are critical times; there is a growing awareness among the Pakistani community for the need for change and to have a place they can call their own , where our children, our youth can study and discuss their culture and values and literature and eastern philosophy and Iqbal's idea of change that he so enthusiastically and passionately asked Muslims to adopt to be able to liberate themselves of the decay, and rise to the challenges of the modern times.

We plan to organize a Fund Raising Dinner on Saturday, April 24, 2004. The location will be announced later. Please let us know how many friends you can bring with you.

To recognize the admirers of Iqbal and the patrons of the Academy, it has been decided to inscribe the names of the early donors on a permanent Donors' Plaque, titled, " Bazm-i Iqbal " installed at a prominent place in the Academy, with the following titles ( taken from Allama's own kalam ):

Mir-i Karvan .......... Donors of    $100,000 or more
Mard-i Momin ........ Donors of     $ 10,000 or more
Shaheen Sift ......... Donors of     $   5,000 or more
Falak Payma ........   Donors of     $  1,000 or more
Pasban-i Khudi...... Donors of      $     500 or more
Karvan-i Khudi .......Donors of      $     200 or more
